Text on glass difficult to read.

Submitted by tino on June 4, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Contrast is to low and the “clouds” behind the words are ugly.

Use "reflections" wise to make the underlying glass less transparent, use white drop shadows instead of "clouds", use Segoe Semibold font (like in Windows Media Center or Zune player).

You can change the color and transparency level of glass yourself in the Control Panel (just search for glass in the CP).

But I like transparent glass. They should use some design tricks to make text more readable. We have seen better solutions on the Longhorn concepts.
