Desktop Icons Behind Sidebar

Submitted by Max Schmeling on June 13, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

If you have any icons close to the sidebar, and you lower your screen resolution, or if you have icons on the right side of the side of the screen that you have the sidebar set to, and you turn it on, the icons get covered by the sidebar. You can still see the icons, but you can't get to them without closing the sidebar.

There may be some functionality to be added around this. Maybe not though, as I can see forcefully moving those icons as possibly a bad thing. It could just "push" the icons over out of its way though.

I reckon it should push the icons over too.

I think if you can see through the sidebar you should be able to click through it as well.

If you can't see through it then the icon will have to be moved, otherwise you can't find it at all.
