Windows Installer has old icon
Windows Installer has an OLD Windows 2000/ME style icon. (I assume Windows Installer is a part of Windows itself?)
It's gotta go, get that icon gone. Replace it with something a little more Vista-like

I think it's safe to say that they need to do a full-sweep of ALL icons both in the core system and optional components.
Someone should also implement and "Icon Commandment" within Microsoft that says ANYTHING that will be installed onto Vista and Up, MUST contain large, full-color icons.
Yeah.
"If you were to buy a new 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle, you'd feel pretty ripped off if the vehicle included the seatbelt from a 1972 Beetle, or the bumper from a 1969 model. And so it is with Windows Vista: Despite the spit shine afforded by the vaunted Aero interface, if you look a little deeper, you're bound to come across various bits of UI from versions of Windows dating back as far as 1990."

I think the icons used in installers are embedded in the installation package, making this a problem with the older version of MSI used by certain developers, meaning the fix for this would actually be forcing those developers to upgrade, which may force them to upgrade to Vista also
Possible design.

@Sarreq Teryx: I never thought of it like that. I guess there could be thousands of installers out there on the Internet... there's no way all of those could be updated.

This may have been fixed as part of Windows Installer 4.5, I'm not sure.

I'm not sure if I have this installed or not actually.
