Ability to lock any icon to any spot on the desktop

Submitted by tommywilde on June 8, 2008 to Aesthetics, Icons, Usability

resorting icons on desktop moves icons around after you've specifically placed them where you want, similar to the person who wants the recycle bin in a locked location.

Ability to right click an icon on the desktop and LOCK POSITION OF THIS ICON/SHORTCUT. Maybe even allow the desktop to be divided into ZONES (i.e. apps, files, shortcuts).

Desktop needs an overhaul. Allow desktop to have VIEWS like folders do. I'd KILL to have TILES view on my desktop!

You can for XP sort of. I haven't tried it on Vista yet.
