Taskbar Properties

Submitted by Amtrak7 on June 4, 2008 to Aesthetics, Bug

On a computer without Aero installed (Home Basic), the option to show window previews is still in the Taskbar Properties without a function.

Detect Aero and hide/show the option.

I'm not sure if that should be hidden. Is it really annoying? Maybe a better explanation for the feature would be fine?

Actually the screenshot shows the Aero interface, but on Home Basic window previews isn't enabled for Aero. So, yes that checkbox should not be there as it looks confusing for users of Home Basic.

Better, yet, they should just have one SKU for Windows 7 and little things like this wouldn't be an issue. :)

It doesn't show up, I'm sure it doesn't. I had Windows Vista Basic and upgraded to Home Premium and I don't remember that being there... it was greyed out if I recall.

Also, as xiphi says... that does show the Aero interface. Although, I disagree about one SKU... I think two: Home and Business, possibly a third (Ultimate) for users that want all of the business and home features.
