Crack on Monitor Image.. Old Style CRT on Screen Saver Settings panel..

Submitted by tcpkid_82 on May 1, 2009 to Annoyance

What were the Microsoft designers thinking. Just look at the top of the monitor.. it looks like they made the image in paint... And its a old style crt monitor. They used the same image from windows 2000..

Personalize>ScreenSaver>Settings

LOOK AT THE MONITOR... rrrrr..

Redesign the monitor with a new lcd style and use a better application to design it!

Why wait for 500 minutes? Just choose (None) from the dropdown. :)

Understandable, but two reasons for it. I think this is designed by the iconfactory, and second: modern LCD monitors don't need screensavers because the screen can't burn in anymore. Only older monitors do that.

So in a way, that image is totally right.

Thats a good point Jasper.
However I believe the OP is coming from a UI perspective here.

What's silly is that you NEED to put a screen saver just to lock the computer after 5 minutes.
I heard that you no longer require screen savers to lock in Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 but I can't find that option...

Note: The Image quality got reduced while uploading. Please use your web browser and zoom into the top of the monitor. On windows its very noticeable.

RE: nyp; the reason i have it on 500 minutes is because i have my computer running 24/7 including my 4 Acer Ferrari monitors. Occasionally i shut it off, make that only during earth hour.

I don't think it really matters what the image of the monitor looks like.
