Increase the Driver Selection list box size.

Submitted by BODYPRINT on November 5, 2008 to Aesthetics, Usability

The driver selection list box has been the same size since windows 98. It's very frustrating when you want to see a list of drivers available. Surely it could make better use of the window space. It's understandable that the window may need to stay small in case the computer lacks any video drivers that can display over 640x480, but there is a huge amount of wasted space in the current window.

Re-arrange the text to give the list boxes more window height and utilize the wasted spaces. Allow the window to be resized and resize the list boxes accordingly to display the most information possible.

It still has "Have Disk" button!

The have disk button is useful for if you want to specify the direct location of the driver files. I manage OS images and this button is invaluable. It should probably be renamed to the generic "Browse..." or the more specific "Browse for driver..." instead of "Have Disk..."

With the amount of drivers available, even a large list box will not serve the purpose.

What's actually needed is a Search field. Looking for HP LaserJet 3055 PCL5? Type the f***er in.
