What are the items in "Do this for all current items (xx found)"?

Submitted by Phil_123 on October 30, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

What are the "all current items" when this dialog comes up during a file moving operation? Why must these items pause the rest of the file moving progress until I answer the dialog?

When moving files, move everything that doesn't need user attention, then show a dialog with a list of every item that needs user confirmation of what to do with them.

Moving of the items, which doesn't need user attention, should be continued while a dialog is showed.

Your solution addresses a second issue which you didn't note in the problem description: that windows pauses the whole move operation while waiting for you to confirm the system files. You should edit the description to include it.

correct me if im wrong, but i think vista automatically queues operations that require user confirmations last, unless a UAC is required
