Little "invisible gap" between window buttons

Submitted by Ensign Joe on October 18, 2008 to Bug

If you use Aero Basic (not the 3D-acceleratet sh*t) and you hover the close button and move your mouse to the left slowly and pause between the close and maximize/restore button the close button will still be in hovered state and react on your click. The same if you came from the other side the maximize button will still be hovered.
But if you try the same with the minimize button, as soon as you've left the button with your mouse it will instantly lose it's hovered state and will no longer fire if you click on it. (Neither the minimize button you left nor the maximize button you're going to mouseover will fire)

(I think this does also lead to the bug I submitted a few minutes ago http://www.aerotaskforce.com/view/1177 )

Close that gap between the Minimize and Maximize button

(Note: This does only apply to AERO BASIC!!!)

Close button detection is 1 px too big, huh.

it is fussy, but also it might be either an intended/unintended benefit to the shortcomings of cursor accuracy. or, it could just be a gaffe....anyway, it helps more than it hurts. now that i've jogged my memory, i actually think that microsoft has problems messing with the framework of titlebars in classic and basic modes...
