Using the Taskforce "Jump to" pull-down menu forces Status Bar to appear in Safari and IE 7

Submitted by Grey_Podder on September 16, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Website suggestion

I don't know whether this is a bug on the two Taskforce websites or identical bugs in both Safari and IE 7 that would occur with any pull-down menu. If someone can enlighten me, please comment.

I keep the Status Bar hidden in any browser I use, but switching from the Aqua Taskforce to the Aero Taskforce or vice versa will cause the Status Bar to reappear in both Safari 3.1.2 and IE 7. This happens in Mac OS X (Safari only, obviously), XP and Vista. I cannot replicate it in Firefox 3 on any platform.

Leave the Status Bar setting intact when switching websites.

Is this being voted down because you can't replicate it, because you think it's a Safari/IE problem, or is it that you just don't care? It would be common courtesy to explain a demotion.

If it's a known problem with Safari or IE, I'll delete the submission. Otherwise, why the demotions?
