Launching an Office 2007 program by double clicking file opens 2 windows

Submitted by heldorado on September 2, 2008 to Annoyance

When you open up any kind of Office 2007 file, let's say an Excel file, by double clicking the file's icon, it will launch the file as well as an empty Excel window. This only happens when Excel is not running before you double click the file.

Changed title from [Launcing an Office 2007 program by double clicking file opens 2 windows] to [Launching an Office 2007 program by double clicking file opens 2 windows].

I don't have this problem.

I don't have this problem either. There must be something wrong with your system configuration. I'd try repairing or reinstalling Microsoft Office to see if that resolves the problem.

Don't have this problem either, and Office 2007 is not Vista which is what this site is for.
