Color Selection Dialog

Submitted by TheNetAvenger on June 8, 2008 to Legacy, Usability

Windows has kept the same Win 3.1 Color selection dialog box, and it needs to go away badly.

(No support for other color models, can't access profiles from it.)

Update the standard Color selection dialog to remain compatible, so existing applications get the new dialog box. If the application is legacy, have the dialog return the proper color Values the old dialog box did, etc.

Font Families - VIewing/Grouping

Submitted by TheNetAvenger on June 8, 2008 to Usability

Can't easily browse or find fonts by familty type using Fonts Folder or Font Dialog

WIndows already undrestands font families and substitutions, we need a simple UI addition to the Fonts folder that allows the Font Family Type to be selectable for grouping/stacking fonts.

This should be available in the Font Selection (more...)

Adding fonts that already exist, annoying Prompt for every font

Submitted by TheNetAvenger on June 8, 2008 to Annoyance

Currently you have to click the dialog for every font that is already installed, very annoying and we tried to get this fixed in the Vista beta but were too late.

When installing fonts and the current font exists, add a check box that remembers your last selection, so you can just tell it to either overwrite or ignore the rest of the fonts you are installing. (Make the UI 'Do this for all' consistent (more...)

Font Preview Printing

Submitted by TheNetAvenger on June 8, 2008 to Usability

There is no built in tool to create a Font Book to Print out. A lot of Graphic Designers like to have a book on their desks to reference or for customers to reference.

Windows 7 should have a simple printable font book creation utility from the Fonts Folder.

Just a simple print selected fonts as Font Book, with options for Sample Text and format of Showing ABCD...etc.
