No need for the status bar in Internet Explorer
We've known Mr. Status Bar for quite some time, in fact many of us have gotten used to his being in our every day lives. But what if we no longer needed him?
The problem is that he takes up too much space. It might not seem like much, but (more...)
Remove the status bar altogether, and integrate the features it already has into the 'main bar'. Rather than looking for the address to a hyperlink in the status bar, the address bar could temporarily show the URL in the hyperlink. Instead of (more...)

Scrollable Desktop
Ever had a cluttered, stationary desktop? Yeah, it sucks, I know. What's worse is that it's just there, lacking in interactivity and life, and has pretty much remained the same thing since the days of Windows 95, only with more eye-candy.
Well, there is a way to fix it!
Inspired by Microsoft Surface, a desktop environment which is zoomable (Zoom out to see EVERYTHING, or zoom in to see a section), moveable (Hold the mouse button and swing, the environment moving around as an after-effect), (more...)

Slightly-transparent Cursor
Windows Aero, known for its 'glass-like' appearance, generally relies on varying degrees of transparency, both as eye-candy and, well, eye-candy.

Add in an extra set of cursors in the next update, or add the feature to change the degree of transparency.

Necessary DLLs and EXEs Visibility
When in Task Manager, it is often difficult to tell what applications are part of the Windows OS (Such as Explorer or svhost) or otherwise.
Could be improved by hiding the Core Windows Programs and such in Task Manager, not list them at all, or have some form of special indication that sets them apart from the others.

Live Image Resizing
Image sizing in IE7 is pixellated. (As in a 320x240 image is resized to 240x160)
Create a 'Live Resizing' method which anti-aliases the resized image, as though that is the usual size of the image.

File, Edit, View, Favourites, etc. Menu
Uses up a large portion of the screen, reducing usability and clutters up the GUI
Could be fixed by placing the menu as a drop-down list of the program's icon in the top-left corner, or other placement on the taskbar at the top of the program.
The browser should have the toolbar released as it currently is provided on Vista (more...)
