Most AeroTaskforce issues still apply to Windows 7 taskforce

Submitted by migueld on January 15, 2009 to Website suggestion

Most of the AeroTaskforce issues apply to Windows 7 taskforce. Windows 7 uses the same Vista codebase, same drivers, same Aero layer, etc etc. It's not a complete rewrite of Windows. It's more of a Vista 2.0.

Provide some sort of continuity between aero taskforce and windows 7. Some possible options: merge the two, or duplicate the aero issues into the windows 7 taskforce. Another option: allow issues to be marked as "Windows" "Vista-only" (more...)

Can't easily add the same port to both TCP and UDP on Window's Firewall

Submitted by migueld on December 27, 2008 to Usability

When manually adding a port to the exceptions list in Windows's firewall, one can't add the same port to both TCP and UDP. To do so, one must create separate entries. It would be nice if one could set the same port to both protocols without (more...)

Limited colors in Windows Mail

Submitted by migueld on December 14, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Windows Mail uses the old 16 color palette. These colors may be inappropriate for highlighting. It would be nice if the user were able to choose lighter or darker shades.

Introduce a modern color picker system-wide and update Windows Mail with it.

Submitted by migueld on December 13, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

When dragging a window it's easy to accidentally resize it. The problem is that Vista made the resize border larger and the title bar smaller. In XP the resize border was much thinner and the title bar wider. It gets very annoying because one needs (more...)

Make the resizing area thinner like in Windows XP, and the title bar slightly wider. OR, another solution: make only the 4 corners of a window resizable, instead of edges.
