Does Microsoft actually read these?

Submitted by rubber gun on October 21, 2008 to Website suggestion

I know this doesn't go here, but there are so many suggestions, and Microsoft doesn't seem to be doing anything...

Someone submit this site to Microsoft, otherwise if they don't read this we're just playing with ourselves

USB/Flash drives do not have "percentage used" color overlay

Submitted by rubber gun on October 21, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Icons, Legacy, Usability

My USB is FAT32, and is shown in Computer. If i right click, and click view as portable device, it comes up in an anoying window, which DOES show an overlay. First, the "portable device" concept is useless, and second, why does it show the overlay?

Centralize portable devices into Computer, and let USB drives have remaining space overlay

What's with viewing a device as a portalbe device?

Submitted by rubber gun on October 21, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

I plug in my usb stick, and it's recognized as a fat32 volume. OK.
Now, i can right-clic, and view it as a portable device. In which a "removable device" window opens, which is normally not accessible. In addition, "properties" (more...)

treat devices as standard devices

Icons not showing correctly in "Programs and Features"

Submitted by rubber gun on October 21, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Icons, Legacy

After installing programs, often in the "Programs and Features" pane, they either show no icon, the wrong icon, or pixelated/scaled-up Windows XP icons, or even the same icon with different sizes

Ability to switch users while computer is locked

Submitted by rubber gun on October 18, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

When I lock my account on a multi-account computer, it locks and allows for unlocking, or switching users. Now if i click switch users, my screen goes black and then i'm presented with a "all users" view. When I re-click my account, it (more...)

Disable the lock screen. Instead, when locking, switch directly to the all users view.
