Welcome Center's "run at startup" check box does not appear on first boot
+1
This really bugs me when I've first installed Vista. Why do we have to wait for the second boot to disable it? Surely, novice users who need to use the Welcome Centre won't be tempted to check this box on first boot. It's unnecessary. Just so that Microsoft can flog their other products.
Explore from START mouse cursor error
Actually, I get the waiting cursor flickering each time. Even though, I don't think this is a bug. When you design an application you control when the mouse cursor changes. Microsoft obviously intended the cursor to do this to indicate that something is loading in the background.
Tabs not shown in Aero Glass
I don't they CAN use Aero for MDI child windows. They're not like parent windows. Maybe someone with the necessary knowledge can correct me...
Start Search should show thumbnails for pictures
@litemininyuszika
That is true. It's another reason why I think the thumbnails would be better appearing as tooltips.
@bearluke
Do you really think that's sufficient? I'm fairly sure the average user doesn't touch metadata or tags. I don't and I consider myself a power-user. Besides, we're talking about images here; text is rarely adequate to describe an image. What do you think about the thumbnails appearing as tooltips (when you hover over the item)?
Start Search should show thumbnails for pictures
Ah, that's true. If the thumbnails are produced asynchronously then it won't slow down the Start menu.

Start Search should show thumbnails for pictures
Unless the thumbnails are cached already then it will slow it down because it needs to find the file, load the image, cache it then display it. When you first go into a folder full of images, Windows Explorer takes a while to draw the thumbnail for each one sequentially. Once it's cached, of course, it's no longer as slow but the Start menu must be fast all the time, without fail.

The only reason I don't think this would be good idea is speed. It could slow it down quite considerably if it had to load thumbnails for the images. It would look nicer, of course, but when you search for something in the Start menu, speed is the main concern.
Maybe, thumbnails that appear when you hover over the images would be better.

Bizarre lol!
Don't like the sunken border for that window either. 3D is so old hat!
Notepad doesn't respond to wheel scroll
@Chris
Well, I can't reproduce this problem in Windows Vista and I'm guessing the others can't either. Not sure what it's like in Windows 7 but I'll check in a bit. Are you having this problem too?
Notepad doesn't respond to wheel scroll
Works fine for me too.
user account files are not kept seperated.
I'm not sure but I think that when you specify a password in Vista, it asks if you want to keep your files private. If this is the case then a user's files should be set to private automatically.
Non-contiguous selections do not behave as expected when items are grouped.
+1 This would be a problem with the ListView control itself not just Windows Explorer; meaning it is probably the same across all applications that use the Windows ListView control.
the buttons in Device manager window are flashing forever
Oo err! How strange! I never noticed that before. It must be that something is stealing focus over and over again on a loop.
The Shortcut key field in the Properties dialog for Quick Launch items is broken.
Well, if you'll just say what you mean by taking the site too seriously then I won't need to keep bringing it up! You didn't really seem to express an opinion so I don't really have anything to not like there. I just don't like your constant moaning about taking the site too seriously. What does that even mean? I don't know why you felt the need to mention that you've been here longer than me. You probably have. So?
Back to the topic at hand, it's barmy of Microsoft to leave this feature in when it doesn't work. Does anyone know if it ever did work in previous Windows versions?

Actually, the icons used in Office are specific to Office; it uses it's own icon set so you can't say that they're XP icons. Not sure about the icons in IE 7; they look fine to me.
