Volume Notification Icon Double Click

Submitted by StormChaser on June 3, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When you right click the volume icon, "Open Volume Mixer" is bolded, indicating it as the default action for double click. When double clicked though, it acts the same as a single click.

When volume icon is double clicked, Volume Mixer should be opened.

"Shop for Music" in context menu

Submitted by Michael Mc on June 23, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Legacy

Right-click a folder full of music (or one customised as "music details") and you'll get the option to "Shop for music online", ported straight from Windows XP. You'll get a nice Luna blue webpage opening for you when you (more...)

I reckon this was just overlooked so take it out... if I want to buy music I'll use my Media Player. Or, at least update the website so it looks a bit more Vista-esque. :)

Installing font from context menu missing elevation shield

Submitted by kettch on August 5, 2008 to Bug, Usability

Installing a font requires administrative access to the fonts folder. However, when installing a font via the context menu in Windows Explorer, the menu does not display the security shield icon to indicate that the action will require elevation.

Place the security shield icon next to the "Install" menu item to indicate that it will require elevation. Alternatively, seperate system installed fonts from user installed fonts. Implement appropriate features to ensure this operates smoothly (more...)

Small rendering issue on taskbar

Submitted by tino on June 4, 2008 to Aesthetics, Bug

There is a shadow on the left border of the transparent taskbar. Appears when a tool tip on the taskbar fades in and disappears when you hover over the blue orb. A dark shadow can be seen on bright wallpapers and vice versa.

Copy confirmation dialog when copying from a Mapped Network Drive

Submitted by chambo622 on August 12, 2008 to Bug, Icons, Legacy

Top of the dialog box states Internet Explorer, when the copy process does not involve the web browser. When you drag files from a Mapped Network Drive to a local location, a dialog pops up asking "Do you really want to copy files from this zone?" (more...)

Change header, revise icon and text to stay in line with other Windows copy dialog boxes.

<fixed> Windows Media Player UI goes crazy

Submitted by Calum.Cook on July 5, 2008 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When you drag the Windows Media Player window very far off the edge of the screen, some of the UI elements change colour, and various other ugly things happen as well.

Fix it!

Disk Defragmenter has an incorrectly named button<FIXED IN WINDOWS 7>

Submitted by WindowsFan on December 11, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When Disk Defragmenter is running, the "Stop defragmentation" button is incorrectly named "Cancel defragmentation". This makes it sound as though stopping it will cancel all the work it has done so far.

Rename the "Cancel defragmentation" button to "Stop defragmentation".
