Old fashioned system icons
Although many users don't know their existence or don't mind their look, most (or all ?) of the system icons should be modernized.
For example: "eventvwr.exe" (Event Viewer), "Active Directory", "Secruity Configuration (more...)
Update the icons.

Screen Saver Configuration UI Missing
When the new screen savers shipped with Windows Vista, they shipped without the options to change / customize them. Long blogged about it on Sept. 9, 2006. The option to change them is available in the registry see: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Screensavers\.
Add dialog boxes to allow access to the screen saver customization options that are already present in the OS.

White background behind file icons in a folder icon
There is an unnecessary white background behind document icons when displayed inside of a folder icon. I think it's a bad design decision.
Make use of the alpha channel and shadow of the file icons.

Every place Windows Vista displays a colored "status" box has a different style.

* Blue, rounded, 1 pixel borders
* Icon within (more...)
Use one style and consistent spacing.
Consider improving the ugly "pastel fade to white" in the headers.

Explorer windows have no title or icon
Title bars in all Windows Explorer windows are empty. The space is there, it's just not being used for anything.
Although the breadcrumb bar is close, this doesn't help for complex paths or when only the title bar is visible. (more...)
Revert to behavior of previous versions of Windows. The existing Aero style can remain, just draw a window icon and title.
The previous option to show just the current folder name or the full path was also helpful. Consider appending (more...)

Language Bar Menu and Dialog box
Language bar menu does not match Vista UI. It looks like a quick job to imitate the menu. Moreover, any menu option that leads to a dialog box, gives you Windows 2000 style (Windows classic look), this includes the buttons.
Update Dialog box, and use Vista UI for the menu.
