Sliding animation in system tray expansion

Submitted by kisetsu17 on May 22, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug

Prior to writing this, the taskbar's system tray area sort of "slides" when expanded or collapsed through the arrow in the leftmost side, but just recently I noticed that it no longer does that--it just sort of hops when you expand or collapse (more...)

None as of yet, I'm looking to your suggestions, since I'm also a newbie here. Oh, hello, by the way. :D

Narrator is running but not shown in taskbar

Submitted by jc4life05 on April 8, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Icons, Usability

As you can see from the picture below, I have Narrator running, usually it starts automatically when I start the computer or return from sleep mode. However, the narrator program is not visible on the taskbar.

This happens in Vista Business (more...)

A simple solution would be to add a troubleshooting feature that is in the action center to remedy this situation. In less words, fix the bug and show narrator when it should be shown.

Filenames covered by taskbar

Submitted by Amtrak7 on January 25, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When you have a file as the last one in a column on the desktop and that file has a long enough filename, it is obscured by the taskbar. The full filename of the file in the example is 'The Trains of the Obama Express January 17 2009.flv'.

Make the filename appear to the side or elsewhere.

Network connection cant be enabled when disabled

Submitted by I'am a pc on December 13, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When disabling a wireless network connection, the button and icon reads disabled as normal. When disabled, the context menu still reads disabled and will not enable the adapter. This prevents the user from enabling the network adapter with the properties (more...)

To enable the adapter you need to go to the device properties window in computer management and enable the device. Microsoft needs to issue a patch to permanently allow enabling and disabling of network adapters in the network connections window.

Disk Defragmenter has an incorrectly named button<FIXED IN WINDOWS 7>

Submitted by WindowsFan on December 11, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

When Disk Defragmenter is running, the "Stop defragmentation" button is incorrectly named "Cancel defragmentation". This makes it sound as though stopping it will cancel all the work it has done so far.

Rename the "Cancel defragmentation" button to "Stop defragmentation".

Non-contiguous selections do not behave as expected when items are grouped.

Submitted by eikonoklastes2 on November 30, 2008 to Annoyance, Bug, Usability

Windows Explorer allows you to select non-contiguous ranges as described in the image.

Make the selection method consistent throughout the views.
