Make this site use the Segoe UI font the same as Windows 7 Taskforce does

Submitted by formula_86 on February 15, 2010 to Aesthetics, Website suggestion

I know this site has been largely superseded by Windows 7 Taskforce, but wouldn't it be nice to make this site use the Segoe UI font anyways?

Make this site use the Segoe UI font.

Separate Internet settings from Internet Explorer settings

Submitted by Alok on February 11, 2010 to Legacy

In the control panel, applet "Internet Settings" has more of "Internet Explorer" settings than "Internet" settings.

Of various tabs (General, Security, Privacy, Content, Connections, Programs, and Advanced), (more...)

These two should be separated out. Only Internet Settings should be in the control panel, while "Internet Explorer" settings should be in Internet Explorer itself.

If nothing else, "Internet Settings" should be renamed (more...)

[Time] The more clocks, the more setting modes

Submitted by Flora43 on June 19, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Usability

Note -- it isn't a problem with only Windows, it's a problem with almost every clock.

Windows for PCs has a dialog box where you can set time and date. No unwanted questions like „Save changes?”. <- OK

Windows (more...)

Microsoft can't fix the problem with my little clock, but please remove this unwanted confirmation dialog in the next version of Windows Mobile!

Sliding animation in system tray expansion

Submitted by kisetsu17 on May 22, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug

Prior to writing this, the taskbar's system tray area sort of "slides" when expanded or collapsed through the arrow in the leftmost side, but just recently I noticed that it no longer does that--it just sort of hops when you expand or collapse (more...)

None as of yet, I'm looking to your suggestions, since I'm also a newbie here. Oh, hello, by the way. :D

Submitted by tcpkid_82 on May 1, 2009 to Annoyance

What were the Microsoft designers thinking. Just look at the top of the monitor.. it looks like they made the image in paint... And its a old style crt monitor. They used the same image from windows 2000..

Personalize>ScreenSaver>Settings
(more...)

Redesign the monitor with a new lcd style and use a better application to design it!

Folders do not remember icon size settings

Submitted by dguy6789 on April 28, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance

The folders in Vista seem to not remember what size icon was used the last time the folder was used. Control Panel for example will sometimes have the icons displayed in a completely different size each time I open it up from a fresh boot.

Remember what the icon size settings are.

Keyboard focus in file dialog

Submitted by Lasse on April 17, 2009 to Annoyance, Legacy, Usability

When navigating the file dialog with the keyboard, after pressing Enter to go into a given directory the keyboard focus is changed to the file name field.

Edit: Yeah, sorry forgot to mention the fact that this happens in Windows 7 build (more...)

The keyboard focus should remain in the list view.

Suggestion about Picture Viewing

Submitted by jc4life05 on April 8, 2009 to Usability, Website suggestion

No integration with Silverlight Deep Zoom for picture zooming. Picture fidelity is not up to par with other sites, neither does it utilize Silverlight's capabilities.

I would like to see the integration of Silverlight Deep Zoom for the reference pictures on this site.

Narrator is running but not shown in taskbar

Submitted by jc4life05 on April 8, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Bug, Icons, Usability

As you can see from the picture below, I have Narrator running, usually it starts automatically when I start the computer or return from sleep mode. However, the narrator program is not visible on the taskbar.

This happens in Vista Business (more...)

A simple solution would be to add a troubleshooting feature that is in the action center to remedy this situation. In less words, fix the bug and show narrator when it should be shown.

Performance Issue History

Submitted by jc4life05 on April 8, 2009 to Usability

As you can see by the picture, the minute I installed Windows 7, I had an extremely significant decrease in reliability.

I feel that your send feedback should have the option to talk with/chat with a live agent from Microsoft. This will assist in troubleshooting specific problems.

Shut down new submissions for the Aero Taskforce

Submitted by alirobe on March 14, 2009 to Website suggestion

The Aero taskforce is has not really received any submissions recently. Windows Vista is now a mature product, and UX feedback is now being rolled into Windows 7.

Leave Aero Taskforce open as a reference, but close it for new submissions.
